I hold a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry and an M.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with graduate research in membrane biophysics and brain neurochemistry. I then completed a residency in Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University and went on to direct a major biophysical research facility before returning to my hometown of Pensacola, Florida.
For 27 years, I taught chemistry, biochemistry, and the psychology of the brain at the University of West Florida. I maintain a part-time Neuropsychiatry practice and consult on medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, and natural medicine. My research spans medicinal plant chemistry, theoretical neurophysics, quantum mechanisms of brain function, and the nature of consciousness — work that has taken me to Oxford University, New Zealand, and Mexico, and led to collaborations with the Veterans Administration and American Indian communities on PTSD and traumatic brain injury.
I have more than 30 publications and five books to my name, and have intentionally chosen a path outside institutional funding and insurance constraints — I offer sliding-scale care, have self-published my research, and self-funded my investigations. Walking the path of freedom and the heart.
